Dick Olmstead died suddenly but peacefully at home after suffering from leukemia with many members of his family around him. His many multitudes of life-long friends were made during his years in school, and the stories they told date back to the forties and fifties. Being a fixture of the north end, despite moving about while growing up, the Creston neighborhoods and schools held the best memories of all. Dick's life was all about people, and he loved meeting, greeting and hanging out with every one of his dear friends, customers, and acquaintances. His office garage was declared the best bar in town. He knew some one every where he went, and never stopped making friends. God's gain is our loss - the greatest friend, son, best father, uncle, grandpa, and brother. Briggs Park, Aberdeen, Creston, Sunoco, all the places you could find Dick Olmstead throughout his life. He loved the north end, and the north end loved him. Now he is back with his old north end gang, together again, playing ball in the park, fiddling with cars, and marching in the band. Your wings are real now, hope you enjoyed the ride! God knows how much you are missed every day, hour and minute.
All our Love Forever is for You.
